HMT jumped 6.76% to Rs 61.55. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. Thestock advanced on bargain hunting after a 9.71% slide in prior four trading sessions.

Bhushan Steel surged 4.55% to Rs 438. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on higher volume of 2.31 lakh shares as against an average daily volume of 1.46 lakh shares in the past two weeks.

Jain Irrigation Systems advanced 3.48% to Rs 147, extending Tuesday's 4.64% rally, onfollow up buying. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Tech Mahindra gained 2.51% to Rs 690.40 and was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. Thestock rose on higher volume of 28,000 shares as against an average daily volume of 19,000 shares in the past two weeks.

NMDC rose 2.45% to Rs 256.80. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stockrose on bargain hunting after a 9.19% decline in seven trading days to Rs 250.25 on 20 June 2011 from Rs 275.60 on 9 June 2011. The stock had risen marginally by 0.15% to Rs 250.65 on 21 June 2011.
