SHREE GANESHAY NAMAAH !
Is the gloom in Indian markets for real or overdone ?
The market extended its losing streak on Wednesday, ending trade in the red for the fifth consecutive session. The frontline indices slipped into negative territory early in the session, and repeated attempts to pullback were cut short.
The Nifty took a 40 point hit, to close at 5,030, while the Sensex fell 106 points and closed at 16,775.
However, the bulls have not thrown in the towel completely yet. If that was the case then market would have witnessed serious unwinding in the 5000 put. That is where most of the positions are concentrated and those puts have not started unwinding in a very large way.
According to CNBC-TV18's Udayan Mukherjee, if that starts happening, when the Nifty drops below 5000, would reek of capitulation on the part of bullish traders.
But for the moment, he feels, even the bullish traders are holding on for 5000.
