It was an extremely volatile start to the week . TheNifty dipped below the 4,700 mark during the day but managed to claw back to finally close flat at 4,743. The Sensex fell 34.08 points, to close at 15,814.72.

Volumes Jumps :

Max India clocked volume of 10.62 lakh shares by 13:16 IST on BSE, a 54.89-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 19,000 shares. The stock rose 1.04% to Rs 145.30.


Titagarh Wagons notched up volume of 1.30 lakh shares, a 31.93-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock surged 7.29% to Rs 418.75.


Everonn Education clocked volume of 6.86 lakh shares, a 14.5-fold surge over two-week
average daily volume of 47,000 shares. The stock surged 17.31% to Rs 387.


State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur clocked volume of 2.49 lakh shares, a 14.42-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 17,000 shares. The stock rose 3.35% to Rs 325.20.

Kalindee Rail Nigam (Engineers) clocked volume of 5.89 lakh shares, a 9.8-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 60,000 shares. The stock surged 8.83% to Rs 107.90.

Lanco Infratech leads gainers in 'A' group

GMR Infrastructure, Wockhardt, MMTC and Shree Renuka Sugars are among the other gainers.

Infrastructure company Lanco Infratech jumped 8.95% to Rs 11.56. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. Late last month, media had reported that Lanco Infratechhad filed an insurance claim of around Rs 200 crore under the advanced loss of profit policy for delay in Anpara power project in Uttar Pradesh.

Pharmaceutical company Wockhardt rose 8.34% to Rs 296.05. State-owned trading firm MMTC rose 8.08% to Rs 968. Sugar maker Shree Renuka Sugars rose 7.34% to Rs 28.50.
