Sensex closes 111 pts up; TCS rises 13% post Q4 nos
The BSE Sensex bounced back on Tuesday after a fall of more than 400 points in previous two sessions. It closed at 17,207.29 and the NSE benchmark closed at 5,222.65 points. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shouldered most of the upmove in a listless trade, though rival Infosys also made good its losses. At the end of the session, Sensex rose 110.61 points or 0.65%, Nifty 22.05 points or 0.42%,  TCS 13% and Infosys gained 1.6%. European markets too rebounded after yesterday's sharp fall; France's CAC, Germany's DAX and Britain's FTSE were up in the 0.4-1% range.

Market Updates :
India's largest IT company by sales TCS surged 12.84% to Rs 1,195.25 after consolidated net profit of TCS, as per Indian GAAP, rose 3.3% to Rs 2895 crore on 0.4% rise in revenuesto Rs 13259 crore in Q4 March 2012 over Q3 December 2011. The result was announcedafter market hours on Monday, 23 April 2012. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
On BSE, the TCS counter notched up volume of 17.94 lakh shares, a 13.87-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.29 shares.
State-run Nalco galloped 7.51% to Rs 60.10. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Organised retailer Pantaloon Retail (India) jumped 4.60% to Rs 168.20. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
India's third largest software services exporter by revenue Wipro rose 4.44% to Rs 442.50 ahead of the company's year ended March 2012 result announcement on Wednesday, 25 April 2012. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
IT firm Hexaware Technologies rose 4.36% to Rs 130.50. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 131.25 in intraday today, 24 April 2012. The company will announce its Q1 March 2012 results on Friday, 27 April 2012.
Stock With Volumes :
Britannia Industries clocked volume of 5.02 lakh shares by 13:14 IST on BSE, a 27.75-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 18,000 shares. The stock rose 0.5% to Rs 568.
Cummins India notched up volume of 2.26 lakh shares, a 11.35-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock rose 0.82% to Rs 487.80.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) clocked volume of 12.80 lakh shares, a 9.9-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.29 lakh shares. The stock jumped 12.26% to Rs 1,189.15 after consolidated net profit, as per Indian GAAP, rose 3.3% to Rs 2895 crore on 0.4% growth in revenues to Rs 13259 crore in Q4 March 2012 over Q3 December 2011. On a consolidated basis, TCS' net profit rose 15% to Rs 10413 crore on 31% growth in revenuesto Rs 48894 crore in the year ended March 2012 over the year ended March 2011. TCS said it has become the first Indian IT company to cross the ten billion dollar milestone posting annual revenues of $10.17 billion.
Idea Cellular clocked volume of 18.09 lakh shares, a 5.03-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.60 lakh shares. The stock fell 3.66% to Rs 80.20.
Titan Industries clocked volume of 10.40 lakh shares, a 3.73-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 2.78 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.77% to Rs 238.90.
