बाजार का मूड सुधरा, 5200 के ऊपर बंद निफ्टी
मजबूत यूरोपीय संकेत और निचले स्तरों पर आई खरीदारी ने बाजार को संभाला। सेंसेक्स 26 अंक गिरकर 17198 और निफ्टी 12 अंक गिरकर 5216 पर बंद हुए। मिडकैप और स्मॉलकैप शेयरों में भी हल्की कमजोरी आई।
ईसीबी से निराशा और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजारों में कमजोरी की वजह से बाजार गिरावट के साथ खुले। निफ्टी ने 5200 के अहम स्तर के नीचे शुरुआत की। शुरुआती कारोबार में सेंसेक्स ने 100 अंक का गोता लगाया।
अमेरिकी डॉलर के मुकाबले रुपये के 56 के नीचे फिसलने से भी बाजारों का मूड खराब हुआ। खराब अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संकेतों के अलावा घरेलू अर्थव्यवस्था से जुड़ी निराशाजनक खबरों से भी बाजारों का हौसला कम हुआ।

Tech Mahindra leads gainers in 'A' group
MRF, Oracle Financial Services Software, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Castrol India are among the other gainers.
Tech Mahindra jumped 5.78% to Rs 761.70 and topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. Shares of Mahindra Satyam, in which Tech Mahindra though Venturbay Consultants owned 42.64% stake as at end 30 June 2012, jumped 6.34% to Rs 88.95 after scaling a 52-week high of Rs 91.85 in intraday trade today, 3 August 2012. Mahindra Satyam after market hours on Thursday, 2 August 2012 said consolidated earnings before interest, taxation, deprecation and amortization jumped 39.8% to Rs 408 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q4 March 2012.
Mahindra Satyam in a statement said that the merger of Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam announced on 21 March 2012 is progressing on schedule.
MRF surged 5.62% to Rs 10,348.75 and was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock underperformed the market over the past one month till 2 August 2012, falling 3.46% compared with the Sensex's 1% fall. The scrip also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 13.01% as against Sensex's 0.45% fall.
Oracle Financial Services Software spurted 5.60% to Rs 2,774.85 and was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company's consolidated net profit jumped 90.33% to Rs 368.10 crore on 9.71% growth in revenue to Rs 946.33 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q4 March 2012. The result was announced after market hours on Thursday, 2 August 2012.

Volumes jump at Kale Consultants counter
Tech Mahindra, Berger Paints India, Oracle Financial Services Software, and Nestle India are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE, 3 August 2012.
Kale Consultants clocked volume of 4.64 lakh shares by 13:07 IST on BSE, a 37.73-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 12,000 shares. The stock jumped 6.12% to Rs 169.05.
Tech Mahindra notched up volume of 1.73 lakh shares, a 17.89-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock surged 5.62% to Rs 760.50.
Berger Paints India clocked volume of 4.93 lakh shares, a 15.54-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 32,000 shares. The stock surged 7.35% to Rs 146.70.
Berger Paints' consolidated net profit rose 19.4% to Rs 44.40 crore on 15.9% growth in net sales to Rs 803.40 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The company announced the results after market hours on Thursday, 2 August 2012.
Oracle Financial Services Software clocked volume of 76,000 shares, a 14.91-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock surged 7.05% to Rs 2,813. The stock hit a high of Rs 2,819.35 so far during the day, which is a record high for the counter.
