Sensex closes 230 pts down on EU concerns, profit booking
The profit booking continued for the second consecutive session on Monday especially after the Nifty hit 5800 and Sensex touched 19000 levels last week. The fall in global markets on weak economic growth and endless Eurozone concerns also dented sentiment throughout the session.

सेंसेक्स 230 अंक टूटा; निफ्टी 5700 के नीचे बंद
19,000 का स्तर छू लेने के बाद अब बाजार बेहद सतर्क हो गया है। आज एशियाई बाजारों में कमजोरी रही जिसके चलते घरेलू बाजारों पर भी दबाव बन गया। यूरोप कमजोर खुले तो हमारी गिरावट और बढ़ गई। सेंसेक्स और निफ्टी आज 1.25 फीसदी नीचे आ गए। हालांकि मिडकैप इंडेक्स में गिरावट इससे कम रही। बीएसई के मिडकैप और स्मॉलकैप इंडेक्स में क्रमशः 0.5 और 0.2 फीसदी की गिरावट दर्ज की गई।
STOCK VOLUMES :
Volumes jump at Archies counter, Commercial Engineers & Body Builders Company, Shree Cement, Tata Chemicals and Aegis Logistics are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE, 8 October 2012.
Archies clocked volume of 18.75 lakh shares by 12:53 IST on BSE, a 13.01-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.44 lakh shares. The stock galloped 6.22% to Rs 30.75.
Commercial Engineers & Body Builders Company notched up volume of 11.17 lakh shares, a 5.90-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.89 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.66% to Rs 101.10.
Shree Cement saw volume of 4.07 lakh shares, a 5.75-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 71,000 shares. The stock rose 0.77% to Rs 3,830.
Tata Chemicals clocked volume of 3.77 lakh shares, a 2.65-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.43 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.05% to Rs 320.80.
Aegis Logistics saw volume of 3.52 lakh shares, a 2.32-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.52 lakh shares. The stock jumped 7.90% to Rs 185.85.
