Sensex ends 163 pts down on weak earnings; SBI, ONGC plunge
Indian shares fell 0.9 percent on Friday with NSE Nifty closing below the 5700 level due to steep fall in State Bank of India, ONGC and Tata Steel following their dismal performance in the second quarter. The fall in global markets too added pressure on the market.

कमजोर विदेशी संकेत और दिग्गज कंपनियों के उम्मीद से खराब नतीजों ने बाजार की कमर तोड़ी। सेंसेक्स 162 अंक गिरकर 18684 और निफ्टी 52 अंक गिरकर 5686 पर बंद हुए। मिडकैप शेयरों में भी 1 फीसदी की गिरावट आई। छोटे शेयर 0.7 फीसदी फिसले।

Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at DCM counter,  Punjab Communications, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, and Tech Mahindra are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE on 9 November 2012.
DCM clocked volume of 6.54 lakh shares by 13:07 IST on BSE, a 48.12-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 14,000 shares. The stock lost 0.49% to Rs 81.25.
Punjab Communications notched up volume of 4.98 lakh shares, a 5.41-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 92,000 shares. The stock fell 2.91% to Rs 140.30.
Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services notched up volume of 1.37 lakh shares, a 5.31-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 26,000 shares. The stock hit a record high of Rs 6.9% to Rs 964 in the intraday trade today, 9 November 2012.
Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company saw volume of 3.76 lakh shares, a 4.91-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 76,000 shares. The stock lost 0.04% to Rs 231.40.
Tech Mahindra clocked volume of 1.34 lakh shares, a 3.24-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 41,000 shares. The stock lost 1.22% to Rs 944.75.
