Sensex rallies as Survey says worst for eco over; Jet soars
Equity benchmarks rallied Wednesday after the Economic Survey said that the current economic downturn may have run its course, and things were looking up. Midcap shares continued to be under pressure as cash-strapped traders unwound their positions, unable to pay the margins required to hold them.

The total turnover on BSE amounted to Rs 2065 crore, higher than Rs 1948 crore on Tuesday, 26 February 2013.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive. On BSE, 1,442 shares rose and 1,357 shares declined. A total of 131 shares were unchanged.
Among the 30-share Sensex pack, 21 stocks rose while the rest of them fell.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Magma Fincorp counter, Federal Bank, Sadbhav Engineering, CORE Education & Technologies, and Grasim Industries are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 27 February 2013.
Magma Fincorp clocked volume of 71.47 lakh shares by 13:41 IST on BSE, a 1046.38-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 7,000 shares. The stock rose 2.47% to Rs 83.10.
Federal Bank notched up volume of 1.58 lakh shares, a 13.22-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 12,000 shares. The stock rose 1.29% to Rs 500.
Sadbhav Engineering saw volume of 5 lakh shares, a 10.49-fold surge over two week average daily volume of 48,000 shares. The stock rose 1.68% to Rs 112.
CORE Education & Technologies clocked volume of 74.80 lakh shares, a 6.49-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 11.52 lakh shares. The stock tumbled 42.38% to Rs 64.45.
Grasim Industries saw volume of 26,000 shares, a 4.53-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 6,000 shares. The stock lost 1.01% to Rs 3,018.
