Sensex falls for sixth day; banks, Cipla decline
The Sensex fell on Thursday, to its lowest close in one-and-a-half months, led by a decline in banking stocks, after government estimates showed India's FY13 growth could be worse than expected, while Cipla fell after its October-December net profit missed estimates.

NTPC declines on high volumes
The BSE Mid-Cap index fell 0.87% and the BSE Small-Cap index declined 1.3%. Both these indices underperformed the Sensex.
The total turnover on the BSE amounted to Rs 2175 crore, higher than Rs 2081 crore on Wednesday, 6 February 2013.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was weak. On BSE, 1,803 shares declined and 989 shares rose. A total of 135 shares were unchanged.
Among the 30-share Sensex pack, 20 stocks fell while the rest of them rose.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Greenply Industries counter, Cummins India, Sadbhav Engineering, Container Corporation of India and Strides Arcolab are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 7 February 2013.
Greenply Industries clocked volume of 3.66 lakh shares by 12:50 IST on BSE, a 129.33-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 3,000 shares. The stock rose 0.44% to Rs 411.75.
Cummins India notched up volume of 13.57 lakh shares, a 36.70-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 37,000 shares. The stock rose 1.69% to Rs 514.20.
Sadbhav Engineering saw volume of 6.84 lakh shares, a 11.34-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 60,000 shares. The stock rose 1.47% to Rs 121.
Container Corporation of India clocked volume of 3.51 lakh shares, a 8.22-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 43,000 shares. The stock rose 0.82% to Rs 953.
Strides Arcolab saw volume of 8.51 lakh shares, a 7.93-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.07 lakh shares. The stock slumped 11.45% to Rs 928.
