NEWS FOR THE DAY :
Macroeconomic data, trend in investment by foreign institutional investors, trend in global markets, trend in other global emerging markets, the movement of rupee against the dollar and crude oil price movement will dictate the near term movement on the domestic bourses. Concerns about slowdown in capital inflow may weigh on the domestic bourses after a Federal Reserve report this week showed support for a plan to reduce monetary stimulus for the US economy. Fed’s bond-buying program has been a source of liquidity for most Asian and emerging markets over the past few years.
NSE’s INDIA VIX, was down 7.38 % level, at 14.04.
Amongest the Indices CNX SMALLCAP was up 0.71% closed at 3,231.00.

BSE STATS :
The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 44.24 points or 0.69% at 6,421.26. The BSE Small-Cap index was up 27.68 points or 0.44% at 6,389.53. Both these indices underperformed the Sensex.
The total turnover on BSE amounted to Rs 1707 crore, lower than Rs 1807.71 crore on Thursday, 20 February 2014.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive. On BSE, 1,477 shares rose and 1,184 shares fell. A total of 155 shares were unchanged.
Among the 30-share Sensex pack, 22 stocks rose and rest fell.
