See new lows for market; revival only by mid-Jan: Experts
After surviving the inflation shocker this afternoon, weak cues from Europe pressured the market to end the day in the red . All eyes are now on the Reserve Bank’s credit policy meet.
Too premature to expect a rate cut, say experts
Disappointing most people, November inflation stuck above 9%. Inflation eased to 9.11% (MoM) versus 9.73 % in October. Most experts expected inflation to drop below 9%.
Experts believe the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will not cut rates in the monetary policy on December 16.

Television broadcaster Sun TV Network jumped 5.01% to Rs 275.80 on bargain hunting after the stock fell 10.16% in the preceding five sessions to Rs 262.65 on 13 December 2011, from a recent high of Rs 292.35 on 5 December 2011. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
Shares of Sun TV also rose after a bill aimed at digitisation of cable TV was passed by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 13 December 2011. The Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Amendment Bill 2011 will usher in a host of changes, which includes systematic registration of cable operators, inspection of cable network services, use of standard equipment in the cable TV network, mandatory transmission of channels such as Doordarshan, prescription of interference standards by the Central Government and empowering the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to specify basic servicetier and its tariff.
Digitisation of cable TV is expected to boost the subscription revenues for broadcasters as it will end the hefty carriage fee paid to cable TV operators. At the same time, the Government has assured the cable operators that digitisation would not hurt them.
Drug maker Glenmark Pharmaceuticals climbed 3.50% to Rs 304.45 on bargain hunting after the stock fell 7.82% in the preceding five sessions to Rs 294.15 on 13 December 2011, from a recent high of Rs 319.10 on 5 December 2011. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Direct-to-home service provider Dish TV India rose 3.05% to Rs 62.45 after a foreign broker initiated coverage on the stock with an 'outperform' rating and a target price of Rs 82 as it expects 75% of India's cable and satellite subscriber additions in next five years to go to direct-to-home. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Supply chain solution provider Redington (India) rose 2.78% to Rs 77.65. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
