Sensex, Nifty off day's high; Reliance, Bharti, SBI decline
सेंसेक्स 17000 के नीचे बंद, छोटे-मझौले तेज
पूरे दिन सीमित दायरे में घूमने के बाद बाजार 0.3 फीसदी की तेजी पर बंद हुए। सेंसेक्स 52 अंक चढ़कर 16959 और निफ्टी 19 अंक चढ़कर 5140 के स्तर पर बंद हुए।
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजारों से मजबूती के संकेत मिलने की वजह से घरेलू बाजारों ने भी तेजी के साथ शुरुआत की थी। पावर, बैंक और मेटल शेयरों में जोरदार तेजी की वजह से शुरुआती कारोबार में ही सेंसेक्स 17000 और निफ्टी 5150 के ऊपर पहुंच गए।

Manappuram Finance leads gainers in 'A' group
United Breweries, JSW Energy, Power Finance Corporation and Rural Electrification Corporation are among the other gainers.
Non-banking financial services company Manappuram Finance spurted 9.77% to Rs 33.15, extending recent gains triggered by private equity firm Baring India raising stake in the company. Manappuram Finance made this announcement after market hours on Monday, 25 June 2012.
Baring India acquired 80.50 lakh shares, or 0.94% stake in company on 22 June 2012. With this, Baring India now holds five crore shares, or 5.94% stake in Manappuram Finance.
Shares of Manappuram Finance have surged 53.12% in seven trading sessions from a recent low of Rs 21.65 on 18 June 2012. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group today, 27 June 2012.
Beer maker United Breweries climbed 6.49% to Rs 530.75. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Power generation company JSW Energy rose 6.44% to Rs 51.20. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Power projects financier Power Finance Corporation (PFC) rose 5.09% to Rs 173.55. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Power projects financier Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) rose 4.17% to Rs 184.75. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Volumes jump at Container Corporation of India counter
Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Muthoot Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Strides Arcolab are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 27 June 2012.
Container Corporation of India clocked volume of 2.04 lakh shares by 13:07 IST on BSE, a 526.21-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 388 shares. The stock rose 0.32% to Rs 877.
Chennai Petroleum Corporation notched up volume of 5.02 lakh shares, a 58.18-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 9,000 shares. The stock rose 0.29% to Rs 122.
Muthoot Finance clocked volume of 7.49 lakh shares, a 8.91-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 84,000 shares. The stock surged 4.21% to Rs 146.15.
Kotak Mahindra Bank clocked volume of 1.78 lakh shares, a 3.68-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 48,000 shares. The stock fell 0.66% to Rs 575.85.
Strides Arcolab notched up volume of 1.81 lakh shares, a 3.61-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 50,000 shares. The stock rose 2.71% to Rs 738.15 after the company said it has redeemed the outstanding $80 million foreign currency convertible bonds on due date. The company made this announcement during trading hours today, 27 June 2012.
Strides Arcolab said the total payout for redeeming the outstanding $80 million foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) was $116 million, including the redemption premium of 45.058%. Post this redemption, there are no outstanding FCCBs, Strides said. The company utilized the cash balance to fund the redemption, the company said in a statement.
