Reliance Industries Ltd posted its third consecutive drop in quarterly profit but beat street expectations as refining margins fell less than expected and treasury gains from its huge cash pile bolstered profits.

Tata Communications leads gainers in 'A' group
IPCA Laboratories, Jaypee Infratech, Jubilant Foodworks and Opto Circuits India are among the other gainers.
Telecommunications company Tata Communications galloped 5.82% to Rs 260 on reports the Cabinet on Thursday, 19 July 2012, approved spinning off surplus land held by the company into a special purpose vehicle. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
Pharmaceutical company IPCA Laboratories climbed 5.21% to Rs 392.95 after the company said it has received approval from US Food and Drug Administration for its oral solid dosage formulations.
Infrastructure company Jaypee Infratech jumped 4.56% to Rs 57.35. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Fast food chain operator Jubilant Foodworks rose 4.22% to Rs 1,264.65. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company will announce Q1 results on 25 July 2012.
Healthcare equipment maker Opto Circuits India rose 3.70% to Rs 161. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Volumes jump at D B Corp counter
IPCA Laboratories, Tata Communications, Hanung Toys & Textiles, and Allcargo Logistics are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE On 20 July 2012.
D B Corp clocked volume of 9.68 lakh shares by 13:21 IST on BSE, a 22.91-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 42,000 shares. The stock jumped 6.26% to Rs 213.
IPCA Laboratories notched up volume of 1.42 lakh shares, a 11.96-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 12,000 shares. The stock surged 4.75% to Rs 391.25.
Tata Communications clocked volume of 4.12 lakh shares, a 10.76-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 38,000 shares. The stock jumped 6.63% to Rs 262.
Hanung Toys & Textiles clocked volume of 3.89 lakh shares, a 9.5-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 41,000 shares. The stock surged 5.94% to Rs 136.35.
Allcargo Logistics notched up volume of 5.05 lakh shares, a 4.84-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.04 lakh shares. The stock was flat at Rs 142.50.
