मामूली बढ़त पर बंद बाजार; एफएमसीजी शेयर चढ़े
बाजार में आज दिनभर उतार-चढ़ाव के साथ कारोबार होता रहा। हालांकि बाजार किसी तरह बढ़त पर बंद होने में कामयाब रहा। बाजार को आज बैंक, ऑयल एंड गैस और एफएमसीजी शेयरों से सहारा मिला, जबकि टेक्नोलॉजी, कैपिटल गुड्स, फार्मा और पावर शेयरों में बिकवाली का दबाव दिखा। आज बाजार की हीरो रहा हिंदुस्तान यूनीलिवर जिसमें आज करीब 7 फीसदी का उछाल दिखा। कल कंपनी ने बहुत ही शानदार नतीजे पेश किए हैं।
इन सबके बीच आखिरकार बीएसई का 30 शेयरों वाला प्रमुख इंडेक्स सेंसेक्स 40 अंक यानि 0.25 फीसदी की मामूली बढ़त के साथ 16,918 पर बंद हुआ। वहीं एनएसई का 50 शेयरों वाला प्रमुख इंडेक्स निफ्टी 10 अंक यानि 0.2 फीसदी चढ़कर 5,128 के स्तर पर बंद हुआ। आज के कारोबार में मिडकैप और स्मॉलकैप शेयरों के मुकाबले दिग्गज शेयरों में ज्यादा बढ़त रही।

Hindustan Unilever leads gainers in 'A' group
Tata Global Beverages, United Breweries, Wockhardt and Godrej Consumer Products are among the other gainers.
FMCG major Hindustan Unilever spurted 7.50% to Rs 476.05 after net profit rose 112.26% to Rs 1331.19 crore on 13.72% rise in net sales to Rs 6250.15 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The result was announced after market hours on Monday, 23 July 2012. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
Branded packaged tea maker Tata Global Beverages jumped 6.79% to Rs 123.45 after the company said its consolidated profit from ordinary activities after finance cost but before exceptional items jumped 55% to Rs 153 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011. The company announced the results after market hours on Monday, 23 July 2012. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Beer maker United Breweries climbed 5.24% to Rs 501.65. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Pharmaceutical company Wockhardt rose 4.87% to Rs 967.25. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company will announce Q1 results on 6 August 2012.
FMCG company Godrej Consumer Products rose 4.49% to Rs 610.50. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company will announce Q1 results on 4 August 2012.

Volumes jump at Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company counter
Carborundum Universal, NTPC, HDFC, and Wockhardt are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 24 July 2012.
Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company clocked volume of 24.13 lakh shares by 13:23 IST on BSE, a 181.65-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock rose 2.26% to Rs 203.50.
Carborundum Universal notched up volume of 8.10 lakh shares, a 104.10-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock fell 0.82% to Rs 152.
NTPC clocked volume of 22.67 lakh shares, a 36.90-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 61,000 shares. The stock fell 0.36% to Rs 153.
Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) clocked volume of 10.54 lakh shares, a 12.58-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 84,000 shares. The stock lost 0.52% to Rs 673.55.
Wockhardt notched up volume of 3.73 lakh shares, a 4.11-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 91,000 shares. The stock jumped 4.72% to Rs 965.90.
