Nifty closes expiry above 5700; M&M, Sterlite, Hero rally
Indian shares rose marginally with the Nifty closing above the 5700 level on Thursday - a settlement day for the futures and options contracts of October series.
सेंसेक्स 49 अंक ऊपर बंद, 5700 पर निफ्टी
बेहतर विदेशी संकेतों के दम पर बाजार एक्सपायरी के दिन 0.3 फीसदी मजबूत होने में कामयाब रहे। सेंसेक्स 49 अंक चढ़कर 18759 और निफ्टी 14 अंक चढ़कर 5705 पर बंद हुए। लगातार चौथे दिन मिडकैप शेयरों से खरीदारी गायब रही और निफ्टी मिडकैप इंडेक्स 0.5 फीसदी टूटा। बीएसई स्मॉलकैप इंडेक्स में 0.2 फीसदी की गिरावट रही। कंज्यूमर ड्यूरेबल्स सुस्त रहे।
एमएंडएम के बेहतर नतीजों की वजह से ऑटो शेयर 0.6 फीसदी चढ़े। कैपिटल गुड्स, बैंक, ऑयल एंड गैस, एफएमसीजी शेयर 0.3-0.1 फीसदी की मजबूती आई। रियल सेक्टर रेगुलेटर पर फैसला होने से पहले रियल्टी शेयर करीब 1.5 फीसदी टूटे। हेल्थकेयर, तकनीकी, मेटल, पीएसयू, आईटी, पावर शेयरों में 0.4-0.1 फीसदी की गिरावट आई !

State-run Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) spurted 7.05% to Rs 314.40 after net profit jumped 80.15% to Rs 302.19 crore on 18.21% growth in total income to Rs 4821.37 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q2 September 2011. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. The bank announced the results during trading hours today, 25 October 2012.
Indiabulls Financial Services jumped 4.73% to Rs 253.60. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit rose 30.8% to Rs 299.14 crore on 29.7% increase in total income to Rs 1183.98 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q2 September 2011. The result was announced during trading hours on Monday, 22 October 2012. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 260.70 in intraday today, 25 October 2012
Bajaj Finserv, a holding company and the financial services arm of the Bajaj group, climbed 4.42% to Rs 921.60. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. Bajaj Finserv's consolidated net profit rose 37% to Rs 217 crore on 41% growth in income from operations to Rs 1008 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q2 September 2011. The company announced results at the fag end of the trading session on Friday, 19 October 2012.

Volumes jump at Banswara Syntex counter
Essar Shipping, SKS Microfinance, KGN Industries, and Brigade Enterprises are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 25 October 2012.
Banswara Syntex clocked volume of 8.70 lakh shares by 13:02 IST on BSE, a 1029.97-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1,000 shares. The stock rose 2.16% to Rs 68.45.
Essar Shipping notched up volume of 17.24 lakh shares, a 32.62-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 53,000 shares. The stock rose 0.33% to Rs 30.10.
SKS Microfinance notched up volume of 18.52 lakh shares, a 21.15-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 88,000 shares. The stock fell 2.54% to Rs 119.
KGN Industries saw volume of 30.15 lakh shares, a 15.43-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.95 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.13% to Rs 17.90.
Brigade Enterprises clocked volume of 14.50 lakh shares, a 14.29-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.01 lakh shares. The stock lost 1.51% to Rs 71.55.
