Cautious Nifty ends flat ahead of RBI policy; BHEL tanks 6%
Indian equity benchmarks closed flat amid volatility on Monday as investors looked cautious ahead of half-yearly monetary policy review by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) tomorrow.
सुस्ती पर बंद बाजार, बीएचईएल 6.5% टूटा
खराब विदेशी संकेत और आरबीआई की क्रेडिट पॉलिसी के पहले बाजार से जोश गायब रहा। सेंसेक्स 10 अंक चढ़कर 18636 और निफ्टी 1 अंक चढ़कर 5666 पर बंद हुए। मिडकैप और स्मॉलकैप शेयर 0.5 फीसदी से ज्यादा की गिरावट पर बंद हुए।
बीएचईएल के निराशाजनक नतीजों और रुपये में भारी कमजोरी की वजह से कैपिटल गुड्स शेयर 1.7 फीसदी टूटे। रियल्टी, पावर और सरकारी कंपनियों के शेयरों में 0.75-0.5 फीसदी की गिरावट रही।
आरबीआई द्वारा दरें घटाए जाने पर असमंजस बने रहने की वजह से बैंक शेयर 0.3 फीसदी कमजोर हुए। ऑटो शेयरों में सुस्ती रही। मेटल शेयर 0.25 फीसदी फिसले।
कमजोर कारोबार में बाजार को ऑयल एंड गैस, कंज्यूमर ड्यूरेबल्स और हेल्थकेयर शेयरों ने सहारा दिया। तीनों इंडेक्स 0.6-0.3 फीसदी चढ़े। आईटी और तकनीकी शेयर हल्की मजबूती पर बंद हुए।

United Breweries leads gainers in 'A' group, JSW Energy, Idea Cellular, Suzlon Energy and Lanco Infratech are among the other gainers.
Beer maker United Breweries jumped 6.51% to Rs 776.85. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. The stock hit a record high of Rs 792 intraday today, 29 October 2012.
Power generation company JSW Energy rose 3.10% to Rs 61.45. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company will announce Q2 results on 1 November 2012.
Shares of most companies operating in the power sector rose after the new Minister for Power, Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, today, 29 October 2012, said he is aware of the fuel shortage being faced by power generation units. Mr. Scindia said he would try and sort out issues between Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Power amicably. On the issue of priorities, he said that he would give an informed opinion only after he made a personal assessment of the Ministry of Power and the entire gamut of work ahead of him.
India's third largest listed telecom operator by sales Idea Cellular rose 2.83% to Rs 83.45. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company on 22 October 2012, announced that its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) rose 2.52% to Rs 240 crore on 3.44% fall in total revenue to Rs 5314 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q1 June 2012. Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) declined 0.9% to Rs 1422.50 crore in Q2 September 2012 over Q1 June 2012.
Wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy rose 2.59% to Rs 15.85. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Infrastructure developer Lanco Infratech rose 2.59% to Rs 11.90. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company will announce Q2 results on 9 November 2012.
STOCK VOLUMES :
Volumes jump at Carborundum Universal counter, IPCA Laboratories, Orissa Minerals Development Company, VA Tech Wabag, and United Breweries are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 29 October 2012.
Carborundum Universal clocked volume of 5.02 lakh shares by 13:07 IST on BSE, a 317.93-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 2,000 shares. The stock fell 0.38% to Rs 156.10.
IPCA Laboratories Industries notched up volume of 2.12 lakh shares, a 10.64-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock rose 0.21% to Rs 451.05.
Orissa Minerals Development Company (OMDC) notched up volume of 10,000 shares, a 6.91-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1,000 shares. The stock lost 2.87% to Rs 4,510.
VA Tech Wabag saw volume of 2.59 lakh shares, a 5.82-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 44,000 shares. The stock rose 0.4% to Rs 505.
United Breweries clocked volume of 5.35 lakh shares, a 4.82-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.11 lakh shares. The stock jumped 6.71% to Rs 778.30.
