Sensex ends lacklustre; winter session day 1 damp squib
Indian equity benchmarks remained listless on Thursday as investors were sceptical over bills getting passed in the winter session of Parliament.

मजबूत अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संकेतों के दम पर बाजार में लगातार दूसरे दिन तेजी दिखी। हालांकि, बाजार को आर्थिक सुधारों की राह में रुकावटें बने रहने का डर भी सताता दिखा।
सेंसेक्स 57 अंक चढ़कर 18517 और निफ्टी 13 अंक चढ़कर 5628 पर बंद हुए। उतार-चढ़ाव के बाद निफ्टी मिडकैप इंडेक्स 0.4 फीसदी मजबूत हुआ। छोटे शेयरों ने अच्छी तेजी दिखाई और बीएसई स्मॉलकैप इंडेक्स 0.4 फीसदी चढ़ा।
आईटी, कैपिटल गुड्स, तकनीकी शेयर 1 फीसदी उछले। एफएमसीजी, पीएसयू, बैंक, मेटल, हेल्थकेयर, पावर शेयर 0.6-0.2 फीसदी मजबूत हुए। ऑयल एंड गैस शेयरों में 0.5 फीसदी की गिरावट आई। कंज्यूमर ड्यूरेबल्स और ऑटो शेयर 0.3 फीसदी कमजोर हुए। रियल्टी शेयर भी फिसले।

Hindustan Copper leads gainers in 'A' group, Strides Arcolab, IPCA Laboratories, Shree Cement and Jaiprakash Power Ventures are among the other gainers.
Hindustan Copper spurted 11.33% to Rs 266.30 after the government said it would pare its stake in the state-run copper miner through the offer for sale mechanism. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. The Government of India (GoI) after trading hours on Wednesday, 21 November 2012, said it has decided to sell 3.7 crore shares, with an option to sell additional 5.17 crore shares collectively aggregating to approximately 9.59% of the paid up equity of Hindustan Copper through the Offer for Sale (OFS) mechanism through the separate window provided by the stock exchanges for this purpose. The OFS will take place from 09:15 IST to 15:30 IST tomorrow, 23 November 2012. GoI will announce the floor price for the OFS after trading hours today, 22 November 2012. GoI owned 99.59% stake in Hindustan Copper as per the shareholding pattern as on 30 September 2012.
Strides Arcolab gained 5.48% to Rs 993.75 after scaling a record high of Rs 1003 in intraday trade today, 22 November 2012. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Blue Dart Express counter, Hindustan Copper, Max India, Orissa Minerals Development Company, and State Trading Corporation of India are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 22 November 2012.
Blue Dart Express clocked volume of 60,000 shares by 13:19 IST on BSE, a 242.57-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 247 shares. The stock jumped 17.98% to Rs 2,022.
After market hours on Wednesday, 21 November 2012, Blue Dart Express said its foreign promoter DHL Express (Singapore) Pte proposes to sell 14.31 lakh shares or 6.03% stake in Blue Dart Express through Offer for Sale (OFS) route through the separate window provided by the stock exchanges on Friday, 23 November 2012, for the purpose of complying with minimum public shareholding requirements.
DHL Express (Singapore) Pte owned 81.03% stake in Blue Dart Express as of 30 September 2012. Under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Rules, 1957, private-sector companies must increase public shareholding to at least 25% by 3 June 2013, while the deadline for state-run firms is 13 August 2013.
Hindustan Copper notched up volume of 13.47 lakh shares, a 19.78-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 68,000 shares. The stock surged 11.43% to Rs 266.55.

Max India saw volume of 5.11 lakh shares, a 14.44-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 35,000 shares. The stock tumbled 3.58% to Rs 233.25 as the stock turned ex-dividend today, 22 November 2012, for special interim dividend of Rs 10 per share for the year ending 31 March 2013.
Orissa Minerals Development Company (OMDC) clocked volume of 61,000 shares, a 9.62-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 6,000 shares. The stock jumped 11.97% to Rs 3,946.50.
State Trading Corporation of India (STC) saw volume of 3.43 lakh shares, a 7.17-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 48,000 shares. The stock surged 5.78% to Rs 237.90.
