Sensex snoozes as FDI logjam continues; JP Asso, RIL shine
Indian equities witnessed a dull day of trade with investors glued firmly to their television sets, watching political parties battle it out on the issue of FDI in retail. The Sensex closed up 36.70 points (0.19%) at 19342.02, while the Nifty ended trade 13.20 points up (0.22%) at 5884.15.

मल्टीब्रैंड रिटेल में एफडीआई पर संसद में चर्चा शुरू होने से बाजार में तेजी लौटी। सेंसेक्स 43 अंक चढ़कर 19348 और निफ्टी 18 अंक चढ़कर 5889 पर बंद हुए। छोटे और मझौले शेयरों ने आज भी दिग्गजों को पछाड़ा। निफ्टी मिडकैप इंडेक्स और बीएसई स्मॉलकैप इंडेक्स करीब 0.7 फीसदी मजबूत हुए।
Market strikes intraday high in late trade. From the 30-share Sensex pack, 17 stocks fell while the rest of them rose.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive. On BSE, 1,660 shares gained and 1,357 shares fell. A total of 116 shares were unchanged. The total turnover on BSE amounted to Rs 2928 crore, higher than Rs 2471 crore on Monday, 3 December 2012.

Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care counter, Elder Pharmaceuticals, P.I. Industries, Lupin, and Crompton Greaves are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 4 December 2012.
Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care notched up volume of 60,000 shares by 13:00 IST on BSE, a 103.92-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1,000 shares. The stock lost 0.02% at Rs 2,499.95.
Elder Pharmaceuticals saw volume of 1.70 lakh shares, a 53.41-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3,000 shares. The stock jumped 17.2% to Rs 416.60.
P.I. Industries clocked volume of 1.84 lakh shares, a 19.97-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 9,000 shares. The stock rose 2.07% to Rs 535.
Lupin notched up volume of 4.44 lakh shares, a 10.83-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 41,000 shares. The stock rose 1.06% to Rs 591.75.
Crompton Greaves notched up volume of 22.67 lakh shares, a 10.58-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.14 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.21% at Rs 116.75.
