Sensex snaps 5-day losing streak; fertiliser stocks rally
Buoyed by a slew of reform measures announced by the government and lower-than-expected inflation data, key equity benchmarks closed Friday's session in the green, though for the week it more or less remained in a tight range.

Muthoot Finance leads gainers in 'A' group, Jaypee Infratech, Motherson Sumi Systems, Hindustan Zinc and Shree Cement are among the other gainers.
Gold loan company Muthoot Finance jumped 7.94% to Rs 199.90. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
Infrastructure company Jaypee Infratech climbed 4.45% to Rs 51.65. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Auto component maker Motherson Sumi Systems galloped 4.30% to Rs 201.15. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Hindustan Zinc rose 4.13% to Rs 142.30. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.
Shree Cement rose 4.08% to Rs 4485.35. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock hit a record high of Rs 4,494.10 in intraday today, 14 December 2012.
Shares of Shree Cement jumped as investors reshuffled positions in cement sector after the board of ACC and Ambuja Cements, on Thursday, 13 December 2012, separately approved payment of technology and know-how fees to Swiss-parent Holcim at the rate of 1% of the net annual sales with effect from 1 January 2013.
Stock With Volumes :
Volume jumps in India Infoline counter,  Kingfisher Airlines, Mahindra Satyam, Coal India and Kolte-Patil Developers are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 14 December 2012.
India Infoline clocked volume of 9.33 lakh shares by 13:07 IST on BSE, a 5.57-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.67 lakh shares. The stock rose 2.25% to Rs 84.05.
Kingfisher Airlines notched up volume of 1.94 crore shares, a 3.92-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 49.65 lakh shares. The stock fell 1.68% to Rs 16.98.
Mahindra Satyam saw volume of 37.08 lakh shares, a 3.82-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 9.70 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.54% to Rs 103.35.
Coal India clocked volume of 4.27 lakh shares, a 3.66-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.17 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.13% to Rs 354.60.
Kolte-Patil Developers saw volume of 7.45 lakh shares, a 3.46-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 2.15 lakh shares. The stock rose 8.42% to Rs 97.25. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 99.45 in intraday today, 14 December 2012.
