Sensex falls for second day; Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank hit
The BSE Sensex fell for the second day on Friday led by declines in Bharti Airtel after its December quarter results missed estimates by a wide margin, while ICICI Bank fell on profit booking, after rising 4.65 percent in January.

MARKET UPDATES :
The S&P CNX Nifty was down 35.85 points or 0.59% to 5,998.90. The index hit low of 5,983.20 in intraday trade, its lowest level since 14 January 2013. The index hit a high of 6,052.95 in intraday trade.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was negative. On BSE, 1,607 shares fell and 1,305 shares rose. A total of 150 shares were unchanged.
The total turnover on the BSE amounted to Rs 2373 crore, almost similar to Rs 2378 crore on Thursday, 31 January 2013.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Sanghi Industries counter, Prestige Estates Projects, Thermax, Biocon, and Sun pharmaceutical Industries are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 1 February 2013.
Sanghi Industries notched up volume of 34.02 lakh shares by 13:23 IST on BSE, a 300.15-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 11,000 shares. The stock surged 5.07% at Rs 22.80.
Prestige Estates Projects saw volume of 4.06 lakh shares, a 20.54-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock rose 0.75% at Rs 181.95.
Thermax clocked volume of 1.23 lakh shares, a 13.12-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 9,000 shares. The stock rose 0.41% to Rs 581.95.
Biocon clocked volume of 6.88 lakh shares, a 7.75-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 89,000 shares. The stock lost 0.04% at Rs 280.
Sun pharmaceutical Industries saw volume of 2.69 lakh shares, a 7.51-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 36,000 shares. The stock rose 0.31% to Rs 720.50.
