Sensex closes sub 6K, midcaps butchered; Sun Pharma up 4%
Bad corporate results, poor global cues and weak domestic economic situation kept investors in the sidelines once again, leading to a very sluggish Tuesday. The Sensex closed 91.37 points at 19659.82, and the Nifty ended the day 30.35 points lower at 5956.90.

Market drops for the fourth day in a row
The S&P CNX Nifty was down 28.15 points or 0.47% to 5,959.10, as per provisional figures. The index hit low of 5,946.90 in intraday trade, its lowest level since 11 January 2013. The index hit a high of 5,970.35 in intraday trade.
The total turnover on the BSE amounted to Rs 2442 crore, higher than Rs 2006 crore on Monday, 4 February 2013.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was weak. On BSE, 1,796 shares fell and 1,046 shares rose. A total of 100 shares were unchanged.
Among the 30-share Sensex pack, 16 stocks fell while the rest of them rose.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Havells India counter, Commercial Engineers & Body Builders Company, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, Visesh Infotecnics and Escorts are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 5 February 2013.
Havells India clocked volume of 72.32 lakh shares by 12:37 IST on BSE, a 177.64-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 41,000 shares. The stock fell 1.73% to Rs 654.55.
Commercial Engineers & Body Builders Company notched up volume of 56.58 lakh shares, a 15.17-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3.73 lakh shares. The stock tumbled 8.71% to Rs 43.50.
Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company saw volume of 5.46 lakh shares, a 8.71-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 63,000 shares. The stock fell 0.40% to Rs 283.20.
Visesh Infotecnics clocked volume of 2.46 crore shares, a 7.89-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 31.30 lakh shares. The stock fell 4.66% to Rs 2.25.
Escorts saw volume of 7.48 lakh shares, a 5.18-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.44 lakh shares. The stock jumped 5.46% to Rs 70.50.
