Stable close: Sensex ends up 128 pts, HDIL gains 13%
After a strong Tuesday, the day saw a stable close today. Gaining 128 points, the Sensex ended at day’s high while the Nifty added 34.35 points to close at 5818.60. Overall, the market remained in narrow trading range. Steady European markets also boosted sentiments in India.

Construction stocks build on thrust on infra sector in Budget
The total turnover on BSE amounted to Rs 1954 crore, higher than Rs 1736 crore on Tuesday, 5 March 2013.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was strong. On BSE, 1,729 shares rose and 1,118 shares fell. A total of 130 shares were unchanged.
Among the 30-share Sensex pack, 20 stocks gained while rest of them fell.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Astrazeneca Pharma India counter, La Opala RG, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, Ashok Leyland and MMTC are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 6 March 2013.
Astrazeneca Pharma India clocked volume of 3.08 lakh shares by 12:41 IST on BSE, a 38.37-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock rose 2.82% to Rs 857.30.
La Opala RG notched up volume of 2.60 lakh shares, a 15.56-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 17,000 shares. The stock hit an upper circuit limit of 20% at Rs 357.65, which is also a record high for the counter.
Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services saw volume of 11.23 lakh shares, a 7.16-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.57 lakh shares. The stock spurted 7.32% to Rs 204.40.
Ashok Leyland clocked volume of 1.21 crore shares, a 5.05-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 24.05 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.86% to Rs 23.40.
MMTC saw volume of 9.09 lakh shares, a 4.62-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.97 lakh shares. The stock fell 4.11% to Rs 325.35.
