Sensex closes up 160 pts, Nifty surges 2.9% in 3 days
The market began to surge only at the last trading hour of the day. The ferocious pullback was supported by fresh buying seen in some stocks. The Sensex surged 160.93 points to close at 19413.54 while the Nifty ended at 5863.30, up 44.70 points.

Market surges in late trade; Sensex hits two-week high
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, turned positive from negative in late trade. On BSE, 1,523 shares fell and 1,307 shares rose. A total of 131 shares were unchanged.
The BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.85%, outperforming the Sensex. The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.48%, underperforming the Sensex.
Among the 30-share Sensex pack, 20 stocks rose while rest of them fell.
Stock With Volumes :
Volumes jump at Indian Bank counter, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, La Opala RG, Adani Power and Wockhardt are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 7 March 2013.
Indian Bank clocked volume of 9.72 lakh shares by 12:50 IST on BSE, a 120.98-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock fell 1.22% to Rs 170.50.
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals notched up volume of 9.74 lakh shares, a 14.87-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 65,000 shares. The stock rose 0.16% to Rs 506.
La Opala RG saw volume of 2.96 lakh shares, a 7.05-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 42,000 shares. The stock fell 0.66% to Rs 355.30. The stock reversed trend after hitting a record high of Rs 397.90 in intraday today, 7 March 2013.
Adani Power clocked volume of 53.12 lakh shares, a 4.46-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 11.91 lakh shares. The stock was flat at Rs 47.75.
Wockhardt saw volume of 77,000 shares, a 3.63-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 21,000 shares. The stock rose 3.16% to Rs 2,015.10. The stock hit a record high of Rs 2,049 in intraday today, 7 March 2013.
